• It was a brilliant idea to create a program that teaches modern Spanish. If you think about it, everyday we use words that we didn't used 15 years ago. This really happens with social media and technology. It's very useful having a Spanish audio program that takes this into account. There's also a downloadable PDF in my audible library that's a transcript of both audiobooks.
• There is a lesson, actually a Spanish conversation and an accompanying vocabulary list, which covers eating healthy where I picked up a lot of Spanish vocabulary for how to say things such as veganism, cage-free eggs, hormone-free, organic food, etc. I love this lesson because I want to eat healthy not only at home but also when I am vacationing in a Spanish speaking country. By the way, there is also a downloadable PDF which I can access on my laptop if I log-in to audible and go to my "library" page. The PDF really helps me remember all of this 21st century Spanish I am learning.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very unpopular opinion about this book. I was very excited to read this book after hearing numerous great things about the author Emily Carpenter and her past books. I myself have never read anything by her nor heard of her so I was excited when I received this.

This book is about Erin who is reeling after the sudden death of her husband. Left to deal with a successful tech company and a college bound daughter on her own, Erin starts to disconnect from everyone. When her friends and family suggest spending some time at a wellness spa in the Caribbean islands Erin feels she has no choice but to go. While her daughter Shorie is trying to deal with college and uncover what's going on within the tech company Erin starts to realize that the resort isn't aiming for her to get better, they're trying to make her disappear.

Honestly I had pretty high expectations for this book after hearing everyone talk about how good it is. I unfortunately did not like it one bit. It reminded me of Liane Moriarty's "Nine Perfect Strangers" which, by the way, I hated that book also. The situations and events that occurred are so far-fetched and over the top you honestly can't believe it's really happening. And then when you get to the end of the book and figure out who's behind the crime and why they did it, you realize how truly over the top this book is.

After reading this horrible book I started looking to Emily Carpenter's other books and am I the only one that noticed they're pretty much all the same? Almost every book has to do with a husband, wife, or parent dying and then shady things happening on a foreign island. Can we not have an original thought and not repeat the same book over and over again just with different characters? Sorry to sound so crass but I honestly feel like I wasted my time reading this book."

Sorry to sound so crass but I honestly feel like I wasted my time reading this book.
• This story was utterly gripping and fascinating from the very beginning. I found the writing very easy to read with two alternate points of view and additional, unique journal entries from a third perspective. The plot was also very compelling, in fact, I had a really hard time putting it down. I was completely invested in the characters, the friendships, and the intrigue. Although the climatic last third was rather far-fetched and implausible, in my opinion, that only served to make it all the more entertaining. Until the Day I die was a mystery and an adventure, as well as a tale of friendship. It was original and creative, and great fun to read.
• The voices of these women felt so authentic, the high tech/app culture and creation were so realistic, the outlandish and horrifying escapades were so thrilling, and the twists so surprising...it’s simply a gem. I’ve always been a fan, but with each book my admiration only grows)
• I have to say, now that I’ve read my second psychological thriller by Emily Carpenter, she is firmly cemented in my top go-to thriller authors. Until the Day I Die had so many of the qualities that I fell in love with when I read Every Single Secret, and at the same time was so unique that it felt fresh, edgy, and most importantly, THRILLING!!! From the slow build, to the immense distrust I felt, followed by the W-T-F is happening and who do I trust??? (The answer is no one) Emily Carpenter nailed the thriller genre once again, and I cannot wait to talk more about it (spoiler free)!
  
  Grieving widow and now-single-mum Erin Gaines is handling things as best she can. But her best isn’t good enough for many of her friends and family. Erin is slipping a bit, showing a few red flags. But she is trying to do her best for her daughter, Shorie. Despite Shorie’s wishes, Erin is encouraging her to take her scholarship to Auburn and get a degree. Jax, the company Erin and her late husband Perry founded with four of their best friends, will be there when Shorie graduates. Maybe.
  
  The thing is, Erin thinks it may be time to sell. Jax is a top-rated app. But without Perry around as the brains of it all, Erin isn’t sure it makes sense to keep it. They could all have a nice payday finally selling it off, and then work on the next thing. Shorie is devastated, because working on Jax has been such a part of her life with her parents and their friends.
  
  I loved Erin and Shorie both in different ways. The thing about Erin is, she was hard to root for at first. She is so self-destructive. What is truly going on with her? Meanwhile, 18 year-old Shorie thinks she knows what is best for herself. But of course, the PhD in me was like “Get your degree, the rest will be there when you finish!” Shorie was honestly a bit selfish. But at the same time, I loved Shorie and Erin. They were a mix of brilliant and broken, which was so compelling for me as a reader.
  
  When Erin’s friends suggest she go to a resort that is also a rehabilitation program, Erin will do anything she can to keep her daughter on track. So she goes. And this is where the story gets…WEIRD! In a good way! This resort is unlike anything you’ve read about. Everything from the workers, to the other guests, to the enigmatic owner Antonia were GRIPPING! I had to know more!
  
  And perhaps the resort isn’t all that it seems. Erin’s first few hours there had me dropping my jaw in shock. Truly—I can’t say more about this because you need to read it! This is one of those delicious thrillers where you’ll have no idea who to trust. In fact, midway through I posted to Instagram that I distrusted EVERYONE. And I mean EVERYONE.
  I am so thriller for readers to experience this twisty-turny story. It has all the “I can’t believe what I’m reading” from Emily Carpenter’s last book, but an entirely fresh and unique story.
• This was the first book I read by Emily Carpenter, and I'm glad I took a chance. While this book was way smarter than I am (all those tech details), it didn't leave me behind or require that I slog through.
  
  UNTIL THE DAY I DIE came to my attention when one of my all-time favorite writers (Shannon Kirk, METHOD 15/33) recommended it, and I see why.
  
  The characters are smart but flawed, and the relationship between Mother and Daughter kept my attention, even when I felt left in the dark by the tech references.
  
  Carpenter sprinkles the novel with tech jargon and creates an interesting business/business world, but I never got bogged down b/c I lack techpertise.
  
  This was my first Carpenter book, but it won't be my last.
• This is my first Emily Carpenter. I am so thrilled I tried this novel. It was gripping, well rounded out and thoroughly chilling. Such an idea that people would do that to loved ones and family! I look forward to reading more of her work.

• This is hands-down the book I wished I'd had when I began managing 8 years ago. It definitely would have saved me from making countless & costly mistakes during my first few years of management, and I will benefit from it greatly as a manager even now!
  
  What sets this book apart from other books about management is unlike other management books written by folks at the end of their careers, Julie still remembers her own ramp-up into management (due to her meteoric rise from intern to VP at Facebook in less than a decade). Julie's complete honesty about all her fears, insecurities, and mistakes at the time (and how she continued to experience them throughout her career) makes her the reader's relatable management confidant and her lessons far more potent.
  
  Julie is a masterful storyteller and effective teacher, seamlessly weaving together her own management war stories to illustrate core principles, combined with practical & easy-to-remember frameworks for managers to use. Each chapter opens with an illustration cementing a key idea from the management topic to be discussed. I think it's a great read not just for managers but also for anyone looking to improve their communication and leadership skills.
  
  What also differentiates Julie's book is that she shares personal stories of failure and admits that she hasn't figured everything out, despite leading design at one of the most successful companies ever. I find her humbleness and empathy very refreshing, and it makes me believe that she really does try to practice the principles that she discusses in the book.
• I write this review as someone who has been a Product Design Manager for just under 2 years. I’ve managed small teams both at a startup and a large enterprise. I’d recommend this book to new and seasoned managers alike—regardless of the size of their team or company.
  
  Julie’s honesty, empathy and wealth of experience gained from many years inside one of the world’s fastest moving and most challenging business environments is driven into each and every chapter of this book.
  
  As I read each chapter, it became obvious that Julie had been exactly where I had been and felt exactly the same things I did in both triumph and defeat. She’s willing to delve into the difficult circumstances she’s encountered, describe what she learned and follow through with the kind of practical guidance that makes you feel like you finally have the right tool for the job.
  
  I wish I had this book when I started managing and I know I will refer to it again and again as I continue through my career.
• I wish I would have had this book a year ago, before my team tripled in size. So much resonated, especially Julie’s thoughts weak hires, and how product reviews and meetings can lose their purpose when they scale. Sometimes you have to step back and say “this isn’t working the way I need it to.” It’s comforting to read someone talk about stumblingly in many of the ways I have, and taking each hiccup as an opportunity for growth.
  
  The piece of advice I’ll most take to heart is on delegation what’s most important to my organization, and what can only I do?

• You will laugh and cry, often at the same time! Continues the story of the 650 lbs mini pig Esther and her two dads as they move into their new home on the farm. This is one for all animal lovers. It's a bit different though in it is a story of farm animals rather than typical dogs and cats, though there are those too that you will also love. Here you'll find pigs, cow, goats etc. You'll see farm animals show The love, affection, and intelligence you may not expect from your "food". You may just find yourself no viewing food in a different light. Steve and Derek tells of their journey into becoming vegan with none of the preaching you may have come to expect and do it without making anyone feel guilty. Believe me, you don't have to be vegan to enjoy this book and fall in love with this beautiful family. The world has fallen in love with this very unique family and we get to follow on their journey to build a sanctuary for neglected, abused and forgetting farm animals. They knew nothing about how to accomplish this but forged ahead with nothing but love, hopes and dreams to not only see it happen but to exceed all goals. They tell the story of success and failures, of years of joy and sadness with the most amazing sense of humor. They leave nothing out. Fair warning there is adult language with f-bombs included. I didn't mind a bit as I've been know to throw around a few myself and in my opinion this just adds to the honesty. I can't wait till the next one comes out.
• This book is just as amazing as the first one. Esther's dads use the same candor and compassion that made the first book so delightful.
  
  One thing that I would caution about with this book is that there is a section or two where they give detailed descriptions about the lives of pigs and cows that are used for commercial food purposes. I was shocked and sickened, and I had to stop reading for a little bit until I processed it all in my head. This is not their fault by any means, they are just trying to spread awareness of how these animals are treated!
  
  It is because of Esther that I am working my way towards being a vegetarian. I am not perfect, I still eat fish and chicken. But I don't eat any other meat, and my next steps will be using vegan cheese and cruelty-free ice cream. I already don't drink milk.
  
  This book is for anyone who loves Esther and other animals and wants to understand them better, or even to just share more kindness to help make the world a better place.
• In this second book from Steve and Derek, we get to see a glimpse of the many emotions and the enormous amount of work they had upon first arriving at the farm. From the house itself, to a temperamental teen piggy, to the arriving animals,and even a few unpredictable people, the two men quickly learned to navigate around a farm. While the work was, and is hard, their recipe is simple...they followed their hearts and a cute little smiling pig, who is all about kindness - and took a giant leap of faith. Loved the variety of stories and insight the book provided into this truly inspiring family. I can't wait for book three, which will hopefully include Corno, Alice and Phil! Great read!
• Having thoroughly enjoyed the two previous Esther books, I was anxiously awaiting the release of Happily Ever Esther (I preordered it in February 2018). Needless to say, this sequel didn't disappoint. In his familar forthright and witty style, Steve documents the trials and tribulations of establshing the Happily Ever Esther Sanctuary. This is an honest account of the hardships endured and the sacrifices Steve and Derek made in pursuit of their dream. Having had the wonderful opportunity to visit the sanctuary the first year it opened, and meeting Steve, Derek, and Esther, I could relate to many of their adventures. This book gives the reader insight into the realistic story behind the entertaining social media posts. The obstacles faced were significant and numerous, but giving up was never an option. Steve, Derek, and the entire Esther family are truly an inspiration. The fact that the relationship established between two men and an extremely large pig (not your ordinary house pet) could move them to completely turn their lives around to fight for an end to animal cruelty never ceases to amaze me. Happily Ever Esther is a testament to love, strength, perseverance, risk taking, compassion . . . (I could go on). It also is a testament to hope, an idea that is pervasive throughout the book. It gives readers the power to believe that kindness is possible in a world so often fraught with hate and cruelty. This is such a moving and heartwarming story. Everybody should read it.

• I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it either. 2.5 stars. I love the Forest School and use many of their ideas in my work. But this is kind of a random collection of stuff, a lot of it not feasible for me to do, or frankly, too much futz and not enough fun. Nettle soup? Had it - meh, plus slimy greens not a kid favorite under the best of circumstances. Bramble cordage - been there, done that, not worth the time and trouble. Bark masks - made them, very fragile, easily broken by the kids wearing them, carving tent stakes . . . I guess, good introduction to using a jack knife but rather underwhelming use of space in the book. Just some of my example of less than engaging ideas that take up space in this book. Of course your mileage may vary, you may want to try these exciting activities!
• I'm personally interested in quite a few of these activities, even as an adult. They have activities mostly groups as Age 3+, 4+, and 6+ in the book. It's an easy to read book and I would say this book is a nice compilation of items that I don't even have on my Pinterest board of a similar theme. I'll give it a five stars.
• Simple, clear, enjoyable directions to getting outside with children.
• Great for outdoor programs and parents.

• A sort of handbook of activities to do in the woods/forest, in every season, with every weather and with kids of every ages. I would have loved to have a book like this when I was a boy scout!

• Seems like a useful cheat-sheet, however the appearance of the small images of icons representing the Lightroom screen icons which are to be clicked/selected as part of the explanation are not easy to see. Each symbol is made of a black square with a gray symbol inside (taken as part of a screenshot from Lightroom). The result is an extremely low contrast image, nearly impossible to read at the size printed. See photo for an example. There are approx 100 such images - I could read maybe 10% of them. The rest would be a guess or would need Lightroom open to be able to find the icon being referred to by process of elimination.
  Better quality icons would make this a good product.

• This item would be great for someone just starting with Lightroom. For someone with advanced experience using Lightroom looking for a quick reference to all of the keyboard shortcuts, this guide is sadly lacking. Still, it is nicely laminated and does have a few tid-bits of information
• It is a handy information and well printed. It substitutes using the book.
• Best purchases I bought. since im new to these programs these babies come very in handy.
• The icons listed where you are supposed to look, or click, are black. The icon does not show up clearly. I think this is a waste of money.
• I wish this had more than beginner shortcuts. I bought this thinking it would have much more shortcuts then what i have already figured out on my own.
• I think I am happy with this quick ref. It has worked so far when I need a reminder.
